THE TOMB OF THE LORD OF SIPAN: THE TUTANKHAMUN OF THE AMERICAS
Lecture in person delivered to Borders Art Society on Tuesday 3rd of December – 11:00 am – Tate Hall – Kelso – Scottish Borders. Non members have to pay a fee.

The Lord of Sipán’s tomb was discovered in 1987 by Walter Alva and his wife Susana Meneses at the Huaca Rajada archaeological site in northern Peru. The discovery was considered one of the most important of the 20th century, comparable to the discovery of Tutankhamun’s tomb. The Lord of Sipán’s collection was exhibited around the world, raising funds for the construction of the Royal Tombs Museum in Ferreñafe, Peru.
